Helping talented international teams create & rehearse innovation pitches to the C-suite
The Client
Home Credit International provides consumer loans to over 28 million customers across 3 continents. With a headcount of 157,000 people and an operating income of €3,123 millions, they are headquartered out of Prague.
The Brief
The Senior Odyssey programme had been devised to help high potential leaders develop broad business leadership skills outside of their technical expertise and relatively comfortable zone of normal operation. Within the cohort of approximately 20 people, small groups of 3-4 individuals from diverse geographies were put together to develop an innovation project over the course of the programme – this would culminate in a pitch for funding to the board. The Group Learning Manager called in Catseye to develop and deliver Module 2 – Pitching to the Board.
The Solution
As part of the design process we asked the programme sponsor, a Board Member, what the key challenges were for this level of leader. The common pitfall was for pitches to be too detailed and technical in their justification rather then appealing to the board in their simplicity of explanation. The importance of visible teamwork was also emphasised.
All this was incorporated into a design that slipped bits of theory around a mainstay of practice and feedback. Over two days two Catseye facilitators helped the groups hone their individual presentation skills, then bind them together into a cohesive team effort. This was all done with St Petersburg as the cultural backdrop.
The Results
Andrea (the Group Learning Manager) provides a testimonial in the short movie that explains why she chose to work with Catseye and will be looking to work with us again in the future. Early anecdotal feedback from the participants has focussed on our refreshingly energetic and participative approach. Time will tell which and how many projects get the funding!
